Extinction Date: Late Eocene (possibly transitioned into Charcarocles genus, which includes Megalodon).

Otodus was a type of extinct mackeral shark, of which modern great white sharks are a part. It grew to be much larger than present day sharks, and was likely the apex marine predator of its day. And also a early ancestor of the massive megalodon Shark.
