Abelisaurus was a genus of bipedal, carnivorous abelisaurid theropod that lived in South America and Africa during the Late Cretaceous. Known primarily from a partial 85 cm skull, it was a large predator, with estimates suggesting a length of 7.4 to 9 meters. It is characterized by a deep, heavily ornamented skull, small teeth, and reduced forelimbs.
