Species: tyrannosaurid (daspletosaurus or gorgosaurus)

Age: late cretaceous- 75.3-79 MYA

Location Found: Judith River Formation, Blaine County, northern Montana, USA

Shape: Features a distinctive D-shaped cross-section with a broad, flat inner (lingual) side and two distinct rows of serrations or ridges

Location: Found at the very front of the premaxilla bone in the upper jaw (positions PM1–PM4)

Rarity: Less common in the fossil record than standard lateral or maxillary teeth because front positions take the brunt of feeding impact and get damaged or lost more easily
