this is a very rare piece that still has the fragile coral attached that was found on it when pulled from the Atlantic ocean of north Carolina.
The largest fish that ever lived, the Megalodon (Carcharocles Megalodon), ruled the seas from the early Miocene Epoch until the end of the Pliocene Epoch (2.58 million years ago). With a bite several times larger than the current day shark, they measured up to 18 meters long and weighed up to 65 metric tons. The largest recovered Megalodon tooth measures 6.9 inches long, and distinctly has a dark chevron shape near the root.
