Age: Late Cretaceous (Campanian to early Maastrichtian stage), Approximately 72 to 74 million years old

Location Found: Northumberland Formation, Hornby Island, Canada

Enchodus-like material is very limited from hornby, with not many being found for sale. And only 2–3 teleost specimens have been reported in literature.

Enchodus was an extinct genus of predatory bony fish that inhabited the marine waters of the Late Cretaceous. Often called the “saber-toothed herring,” Enchodus is best known for its distinctive elongated, fang-like teeth, which were adapted for capturing prey.
